Mary Poppins

Come see the students of Allegiant Christian School dance and sing in the Tony Award-winning musical drama, Fiddler on the Roof. You will hear the story of Tevye, a milkman in a Russian-Jewish village, and the conflicts that arise within him when his daughters want to defy tradition and marry for love. The story unfolds against a background of racial and religious discrimination by Russians against Jews.

The lush score includes such unforgettable songs as “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “Sunrise, Sunset” and “To Life.”

Based on the short-story collection Tevye and His Daughters by Russian-born writer Sholem Aleichem, Fiddler on the Roof was one of the first Broadway musicals to weave tragic elements – in this case the persecution and displacement of a people – into a story of romantic love.
